Alfred Griner Packer ( Eng. Alfred Griner Packer ; January 21, 1842 - April 23, 1907 ) is an American gold miner known for being accused of murder and cannibalism, as well as looting. Packer was sentenced to death, commuted to 40 years in prison (of which he served 18, after which he was released ahead of schedule). Packer's case is still controversial about his guilt and the justification of his actions.

Biography
He was accused of killing and eating his fellow gold miners [1] . He spent 18 years in prison until he was pardoned, and throughout his life claimed that he was not guilty of murder. The story of Alfred Packer was filmed in the musical comedy horror film directed by Trey Parker - “ Cannibal!” Musical ”, released in 1993 by Troma Entertainment . The main cafeteria at Boulder University ( Colorado ) is named Alfred Packer's Grill .
