Special Projects in the Field of Contemporary Art
- Innovation Award
The State Prize in the field of contemporary art "Innovation" was established by the NCCA with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the award is to assist authors working in the field of contemporary art, identify the most important artistic achievements and draw the attention of the general public to Russian contemporary art.
The prize is awarded in six competitive nominations: “Project of the Year”, “Curator of the Year”, “Artist of the Year”, “Regional Project”, “New Generation”, “Educational Project”, as well as in two non-competitive ones - “For Contribution to the Development of Contemporary Art "And" For the support of contemporary Russian art. " The expert council and the jury of the award include leading Russian and international experts in the field of contemporary art.
- Moscow International Biennale for Young Art
The Moscow International Biennale for Young Art is a large-scale international project that demonstrates the current panorama of the art of the young generation. This is the main review of the works of Russian and foreign artists of a new generation (up to and including 35 years old) working in the field of contemporary art using the latest strategies, practices and technologies. Moscow International Biennale for Young Art has been held since 2008. The mission of the Biennale is to discover new names, create conditions for the presentation of young authors to the public and develop contemporary art in an urban environment.
The Industrial Biennale has been held in Yekaterinburg and the Ural region since 2010 and is one of the most powerful Russian events in the field of contemporary art of international level and status.
The specifics of the Ural Industrial Biennale consists in working with the industrial context and the heritage of the Urals, the interpretation of which occurs through actual artistic practice. At the time of the Biennale, the symbols of the era of industrialization, which left its mark on the appearance of cities - production sites, premises of large factories and unique architectural objects of constructivism - turn into exhibition halls and a stage for theatrical productions and performances.
The Biennale is not only a unique artistic event in concept and scale, but also analyzes the socio-economic specifics of the region, placing it in the context of important international processes.
- Shiryaev Biennale of Contemporary Art
The Shiryaev Biennale of Contemporary Art was organized in 1999 by the Samara artists Nely and Roman Korzhov with the active participation of Hanns-Michael Rupprechter and the Stuttgart Union of Artists. Since 2007, the NCCA branch in Samara has been a co-organizer of the project. The Biennale is held in the old Russian village of Shiryaevo on the banks of the Volga - one of the most beautiful places in Samarskaya Luka, surrounded on all sides by the Zhigulevsky Reserve.
The strategy of the Biennale is aimed at finding new forms of communication of contemporary art in the social environment and the development of promising trends in visual art. An important component of the structure of the Biennale is an international creative laboratory - an experiment in the field of contemporary art in a traditional Russian village. The main task of the laboratory is to give the artist a chance to "start working from scratch" without experiencing pressure from the art market. Working on projects and using "local" materials and opportunities, participants become a close team of like-minded people. The Shiryaev Biennale offers not only an alternative to the traditional functioning of art, but also a strategy of independence.
Festivals
The annual festival brings together several hundred museums from all over Russia, acting as a powerful presentation platform, facilitating the exchange of experience and the professional development of museum business. From year to year, the number of Russian and foreign participants is only growing - in 2016 their number reached 316.
As part of the Intermuseum, there are many lectures, meetings and discussions, presentations of unique cases from the practice of museum design, useful for professional development. In addition, this is a festival contest: teams of Russian museums compete in four categories, which change annually depending on the topic.
The State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO" annually holds the International Festival of Russian Culture FeelRussia, organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

“A meeting place with art” is a global educational initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and ROSIZO, covering 29 small and medium-sized cities of Russia.
Collections
