The history of the port of Zarubino dates back to the construction of the fishing industry enterprise - the sea fishing port, which began in 1972 .
In June 1973, by order of Primorrybprom dated 06/01/1973, the Directorate of the under construction Trinity fishing port was formed. In July 1981, by order of the All-Union Fisheries Association of the Far Eastern Basin (VRPO "Dalryba") dated 06/01/1981 in the village of Zarubino was established the company "Sea fishing port" Trinity "."
In December 1988, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Fishery of the USSR dated December 12, 1988, No. 450, the Trinity Sea Fishing Port enterprise was renamed the Khasansky Fishing Port.
In March 1992, by the resolution of the Khasansky District Administration dated 03.03.1992, the Khasansky Sea Port enterprise was renamed into the state production and commercial company Khasansky Sea Commercial Port.
In April 1992, by order of the Government of Russia dated 04.15.1992 No. 739-r, the Khasan Commercial Sea Port of Trinity Bay was opened to foreign ships.
In May 2013, by order of the Ministry of Health of Russia dated 12.11.2012 No. 904n, the order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia dated 7.03.2012 No. 207n was canceled, by which the checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation in the seaport of Zarubino was included in the list of checkpoints through the state border of the Russian Federation, equipped and intended for the import into the territory of the Russian Federation of goods, chemical, biological and radioactive substances, waste and other goods that are dangerous to humans, food s products, materials and articles in contact with foodstuffs.
Prospects for the development of the seaport of Zarubino are associated with the construction of new and development of existing port infrastructure facilities. In particular, the construction of a grain terminal with a capacity of 5 million tons is planned in the seaport of Zarubino. It is planned to bring the total volume of cargo transshipment in the seaport to 9 million tons, including due to an increase in the processing of rolling cargo (cars and other equipment), fish products and containers, not only in the export-import direction, but also for transit from north to south PRC or from PRC to the Republic of Korea.
It is planned to build the Hunchun railway ( China ) - the port of Zarubino with Chinese ( European ) gauge [3] .
