Biography

Agnes was the daughter of Guillaume VIII, Duke of Aquitaine , and his third wife, Hildegard of Burgundy , and thus was the half-sister of Queen Castile Agnes Aquitaine, with whom she is sometimes confused.

In 1081, Agnes was engaged to Pedro I of Aragon and Navarre [1] . In 1086, they married in the cathedral of the city of Jacques - the then capital of Aragon , and in 1094 Agnes ascended with her husband to the throne of Aragon and Navarra .

In the marriage, Agnes gave birth to Pedro I of two children: Pedro (died in 1103) and Isabella (died in 1104).

Agnes died in 1097, and her husband Pedro I married a second time to Berthe , presumably the daughter of Count Savoy Pierre I.
