Biography
Dzhaudat Kharisovich Fayzi (Fayzullin) was born on January 4, 1910 in Orenburg in the family of a teacher. A significant influence on the musical development of Jawdat Faizi had his uncle playwright Mirhaydar Faizi, who instilled in him a love of music and theater. Jawdat Faizi received his primary musical education at the music school of his native city.
In 1925, the family of Dzhaudata Faizi moved to Kazan. After graduating from high school, Dzhaudat Faizi worked as a teacher in the village of Isheevo, Nizhny Novgorod region.
In 1929–1933, Dzhaudat Faizi was a law student at Kazan State University .
In 1934, in connection with the organization of the Tatar Opera Studio at the Moscow State Conservatory, Jowdat Faizi was appointed head of the training section of the studio. Simultaneously with the administrative work, he worked in the class of the composer B. S. Schechter, and also used the advice of Professor G. I. Litinsky. The main creative interests of Jowdat Faizi were concentrated at this time in the field of the song genre.
In 1938, Jowdat Faizi, together with other graduates of the Tatar Opera Studio, returned to Kazan. Here, taking an active part in music and public life, he worked as the radio editor of the radio committee, head of the musical part of the G. Kamal Tatar Academic Theater, director and artistic director of the Tatar Philharmonic Society.
He led musical folklore expeditions to various regions of Tatarstan, recorded a large number of modern and folk songs, published them in collections.
Jowdat Faizi died on May 2, 1973 in Kazan.
Creativity
His first work was the music for the dramas “Tashkentynnar” (“Streams”) (1937) by T. Gizzat , “Shamsykamar” (1938) by M. Ableeva and the comedy “Khuzha Nasredin” (1941) by N. Isanbeta.
Jowdat Faizi made a great contribution to the development of the musical comedy genre. His musical comedy "Bashmagym" remains in the repertoire of the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theater. M. Jalil for many years and put on the stages of many theaters in Russia. He also created "Akcharlaklar" ("The Seagulls"), "Idel Bund" ("On the Bank of the Volga") and the opera "Unreleased Letters" based on the story by A. Kutuya.
Jowdat Faizi wrote about 200 songs and romances. Among the most popular are “Kyzyma”, “Whom Uylagan”, “Ayly Kichtk”, “Bu Kırlar, Bu yzәnnәrdә”, “Kazan Arty”, “Orenburg shәle”, “Yoruk Zhyry” and others.
