Grekov, Dmitry Evdokimovich

Born in 1748 , “from the lieutenant colonel of the Don Children’s Army”. Father - Colonel Evdokim Timofeevich Grekov. Brother of Alexei Evdokimovich and Stepan Evdokimovich .

He entered the active service as a 13-year-old Cossack. He received baptism of fire in the North Caucasus , performing service from 1764 to 1766 in the Kizlyar fortress. At the border he participated in skirmishes with the highlanders. Here he was appointed regimental Yesaul .

Member of the Russian-Turkish war of 1769-1774 . In 1798 he was appointed head of the Derbent Kalmyk ulus - he was responsible for the calmness among the nomads and the timeliness of putting a certain number of equestrian soldiers on a campaign.
