Biography

Born in 1833 in Moscow in the family of the priest "Sretensky Forty Voskresenskaya, which is in the Catherine’s poor house, church" Matvey Ivanovich Orlinkov (c. 1800 - 1874). On March 16 of the same year, he was ordained a hierodeacon , then elevated to the rank of hieromonk . In the same year he graduated from the Theological Academy; He knew very well the latest and ancient foreign languages.

August 19, 1858 identified as an inspector in the Kaluga Theological Seminary . February 10, 1859 awarded the degree of Master of Theology. Since April 15, 1859 - Inspector of the Kostroma Theological Seminary .

Since June 18, 1860 - the cathedral hieromonk of the St. Petersburg Alexander Nevsky Lavra. December 15, 1864 elevated to the rank of archimandrite . March 18, 1865 was transferred by the inspector to the St. Petersburg Theological Seminary .

August 31, 1866 - rector of the Kostroma Theological Seminary and Archimandrite of the Bogoroditsky Igritsky Monastery. From October 6, 1866 to July 1, 1867, he was a member of the Kostroma Theological Consistory. Since December 10, 1866 - Chairman of the Kostroma Provincial Censorship Committee.

On December 26, 1875, he was relieved of all posts and appointed rector of the Tiflis Theological Seminary and archimandrite of the Tiflis Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery.

Soon he was fired at rest due to eye disease and was determined by the abbot of Novgorod Anthony the Roman of the monastery and a member of the Novgorod consistory.

He possessed oratorical talent and delivered wonderful sermons, but did not print them.

July 25, 1886 suddenly died in Novgorod. He was buried in the Anthony Monastery.
