The Amur Region is an administrative-territorial unit of the Russian Far East , which existed from November 22, 1920 to November 15, 1922 .

The administrative center of the region is the city of Khabarovsk .
History
It was formed on November 22, 1920 from the Sakhalin and part of the Primorsk regions of the Far Eastern Republic as part of the Imansky , Sakhalin , Udsky and Khabarovsky districts. At the same time, from the Sakhalin region only the mainland Udsky district actually became part of the Amur region, the island part of the Sakhalin region was under Japanese occupation and was part of the region only legally.
On November 15, 1922 , after the liquidation of the Far Eastern Democratic Republic and its inclusion in the RSFSR , it was transformed into the Amur Province of the Far Eastern Region .
In October 1923, the Amur province was liquidated; its territory was transferred to the Primorsky province .
