After the lease was over, he returned to Atlético Madrid and spent two more seasons here.

Zaragoza

On July 1, Gaby officially became a player of Zaragoza, and on August 25 made his debut for the club in the 1st round Examples 2007/08 [3] and almost immediately became a regular player of the main team [4] . At the end of the season, Zaragoza flew to Segunda , but a year later returned to Example again. In the 2009/10 season, the team finished in 14th place, and Gaby first put on the captain's armband of the Aragonese.

The 2010/11 season turned out to be rich in goals for the Spaniard: he scored 11 goals, six of them from the penalty spot . On March 12, 2011, Gaby took a double in the match against Valencia (both goals from the penalty spot), as a result, his team won 4-0 [5] . He scored Real Madrid in a victory for Zaragoza match [6] and twice Levant in the last round Examples (both times from the game) [7] . The first goal after the return of Gaby scored on December 4 at the gate of “ Rayo Vallecano ” (the 14th round of the championship of Spain). But Gaby himself was removed in the last added minute, receiving a second yellow for a time delay. Victory in the finals allowed Atlético not only to win the trophy, but also to win in the Madrid derby for the first time in 14 years [12] .

On October 2, 2014, Gabi testified to Spain’s special prosecutor’s office to combat corruption and organized crime, confirming the contractual nature of the match; in addition, he stated that he acted at the request of the club and had no personal interest in the outcome of this game, as he had already agreed on a contract with Atlético [22] . According to the prosecutor’s office, the Zaragoza coach Javier Aguirre and 9 team players donated 965,000 euros in cash to the Levante football players to ensure the desired result [23] .
