Biography
Jewish by birth. Cross . Having changed his surname to Polish, he made a career under the regime of J. Pilsudski . During the Second World War, he worked in the transport bureau of the Warsaw ghetto , in December 1940, Judenrat chairman Adam Chernyakov appointed him head of the Warsaw ghetto order service . Gained notoriety because of his cruel and aggressive nature. He actively assisted the Nazis in organizing the deportation of Jews to concentration camps, in the issuance of Gestapo figures of the Jewish underground.
On May 1, 1942, he was arrested for appropriating the things of deported Jews (his former deputy Yakub Leikin became the new chief), however, he was released in July of the same year and again served in the " Jewish police ". A Jewish militant organization sentenced him to death, and on September 21, 1942, he was seriously wounded by the Israeli Police but switched to the side of the resistance with 2 pistol shots.
He committed suicide by taking potassium cyanide after the deportation of the bulk of the ghetto Jews to concentration camps in January 1943 (among the “resettled” there were a large number of his subordinates from the “Jewish police”).
