Biography
Ray Mamedbeyli started playing football in 1998, at the age of 6, in Baku, in the Neftchi children's football school, under the guidance of the experienced Azerbaijani coach Islam Karimov. In the future, for three years he studied the basics of football in FC "Karabakh", where his mentor was Vagif Pashayev.
In 2004, together with his family, he moved to a permanent place of residence in the Belgian city of Leuven , where he enrolled in a local football school and studied for three years under the guidance of a local football specialist, Jan Devit. He played for youth teams (up to 13, 14 and 15 years old) of the Oud-Heverle Leuven club.
The football player’s father Elgiz Mamedbeyli was also a professional football player and defended the colors of such Azerbaijani clubs as Kapaz , Karabakh and Neftchi .
Club career
Belgium
He started his professional football career in 2008 with a performance for the youth team (up to 19 years) of the Saint-Truiden club , from the Belgian city of the same name. In 2009 he moved to the club "Volve Zaventem" , who played in the third league of the Belgian championship.
Azerbaijan
In 2011, returning to Azerbaijan, he signed a contract with the club of the Azerbaijani Premier League "Gabala" , for the double of which he performed for two seasons, while scoring 32 goals in 56 games.
In July 2013, Mamedbeyli enters into a two-year contract with another representative of the top division, AZAL club from Baku , where he enters the field in the first team, [2] at number 21. [3]
