Biography
Born in Moscow . After seven years of work at the leather factory. From the Komsomol organization of a leather factory, she was sent to study at the Moscow Art College at Izogiz. In 1937–1938, from the 5th year, by the resolution of the Committee on Arts at the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR, was transferred to the 1st course of the Moscow State Art Institute ( MGHI , since 1948 named after V.I. Surikov) to the painting department.
In 1941 she was evacuated together with the institute in Samarkand .
In Samarkand, the war years in the evacuation were the largest Soviet artists who continued to create and train young people. Claudia Fyodorovna had good teachers, among them: V. A. Favorsky , I. E. Grabar , P. Ya. Pavlinov .
In 1946, having defended her thesis on linocut, she graduated from MGHI (workshop of Professor G. M. Schegal and Professor P. Ya. Pavlinov ).
In 1947 she was accepted as a member of the Moscow Union of Soviet Artists (MASKH) (graphic section). She worked in publishing houses: " Fiction ", "Soviet schedule", " Young Guard ".
One of the organizers of the graphic factory, where she worked twenty-five years: 15 linework prints were produced on linocut. The graphic section of the MOSSKh was recommended to the members of the artistic council of the graphic plant, the council was 15 years old until 1976.
Creativity
Sarafanova traveled a lot around the country in search of new motives and impressions. Painted landscapes of Moscow and Moscow region , Tarusa , the village of Konstantinovo ( Yesenin's birthplace), the Baltic States , the Carpathians, the North, the Crimea . She worked on thematic series: “The Trawl Fleet of the North”, “The Kovrovshchitsy of Khiva ” (1964), “Delegates of the World Congress of Women for Peace” (1961).
