Biography

He graduated from elementary school in Krupan and two classes of the gymnasium in Loznitsy.

He graduated from the theological seminary in Belgrade and the Theological Faculty of the University of Belgrade .

At the end of his studies, for two years he carried the obedience of the confessor, and then the abbot in the churches of Belgrade.

For two and a half years, he was a professor at the Theological Seminary of the Three Hierarchs at the Krka Monastery . At the same time he was rector in Ivoshevtsy.

On July 15, 1967, in the Cathedral Church in Belgrade, the newly elected bishop was named [1] .

On July 16, 1967, in the Cathedral Church in Belgrade, he was consecrated bishop of Moravic , Vicar of the Patriarch of Serbia . The consecration was performed by Patriarch Herman, in congregation with both Bishop Sremsky Makarii (Djordjevic) and Slavonski Emilian (Marinovich) [1] .

On March 12, 1969, the Western European and Australian-New Zealand dioceses were formed , the bishop of Laurentius being appointed ruling bishop [2] .

March 29, 1969 in London , he was consecrated , which was led by Bishop of Bach Nikanor [3] .

In the care of Bishop Lawrence, Australia created the conditions for the organization of a new diocese , which was created in 1973, in connection with which Bishop Lawrence began to be titled Bishop of Western Europe.

In Germany, he founded the diocesan center in Guilmestier and purchased a temple for the needs of the Serbian Orthodox Church. A church printing house was arranged here.

On June 24, 1989 [4] by the decision of the Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, he was appointed bishop of Shaback and Valewski, while he was left the administrator of the Western European Diocese until the election of a new bishop on it [5] .

July 23, 1989 in Шабabac, the bishop of Lawrence was sent to a new pulpit.

Through the efforts of Bishop Lawrence, the construction of a new diocesan center and monastery in Sokograd began .

As a representative of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Bishop Lavrenti participated in many inter-church meetings and theological conferences, and made several presentations and reports.

In May 2006, in connection with the creation of an independent Valev diocese , Bishop Lavrenty began to be titled “Shabatsky”.
