Nitriansky krai [2] ( Slovak. Nitriansky kraj ) is one of the eight territories of Slovakia with an administrative center in the city of Nitra . The area of the region is 6344 km². Located in southwestern Slovakia . It borders with Hungary .

Content
Geography
The region is located in southwestern Slovakia, mainly in the eastern part of the Central Danube Lowland . Physically and geographically, it is divided into two regions: the Danube lowland and the Zhitny island in the south of the region and the Danube Upland in the north, east and in the center. The following mountain ranges are located on the territory of the region: Povazhski-Inovec in the north-west, Tribec north of Nitra, Pogronski-Inovec in the northeast, and the mountains of Štiavnitske-Vrhi in the east. The main rivers of the region are the Danube with its tributaries Gron , Vag , Nitra , Ipel .
