Geography
According to the US Census Bureau, the area of the settlement is 95.6 km², of which land is 91.1 km² and the water surface is 4.5 km². Located in the northern part of St. Michael's Island, which is located in the southern part of Norton Bay.
Population
According to the 2000 census, the population of the city was 547 people [1] . Racial Composition: Native Americans - 93.97%; white - 5.12%; African Americans - 0.18%; representatives of two or more races - 0.73%. The proportion of people under the age of 18 years is 47.2%; persons over 65 years of age - 4.6%. The average age of the population is 20 years. For every 100 females there are 115.4 males; for every 100 females age 18 and over, 114.1 males.
Of 123 households, 64.2% raised children under the age of 18 years, 47.2% were couples living together, 11.4% were women without husbands, 15.4% did not have a family. 12.2% of the total number of households at the time of the census lived independently, while 0.8% were single elderly people aged 65 years and older. On average, 4.45 people lead a household, and the average family size is 4.86 people.
