Description

In the monastery of Trooditissa there are two revered shrines: the miraculous icon of the Mother of God “Trooditissa”, written according to legend by the Evangelist Luke , and the miraculous belt decorated with gold and silver, which, as a token of gratitude, was presented to the monastery by a woman who prayed earnestly for the giving of children and received the request. This belt according to local beliefs helps infertile women give birth to a son.

Currently, about 10 monks live in the monastery.
