The street starts from Moskovskaya street on the overpass over the Moscow - Brest railway and the Institute of Culture platform . Chkalova street intersects with the streets of Mogilyovskaya, Brilevskaya, Voronyansky and ends with an access road to the terminal building of Minsk-1 airport and the intersection with Aerodromnaya street.
At the turn of the XIX - XX centuries , the Koydanovsky tract passed on the site of a modern street. Here was the suburb of Kind Thoughts, and to the north was the Brest Station and the line of horses passed. In 1939, the street that led from the city center to the Minsk airport was renamed in honor of test pilot Valery Chkalov ; a plaque in his honor is installed on the house number 12 [1] . The street is built after the war and dates back to the 1950s and 70s. In 1965, a monument was erected to the pilot Timofey Terentyevich Romashkin [2] .
On the street are located, in particular, the Administration (District Executive Committee) of the Oktyabrsky District (Chkalova, 6), secondary school No. 1 (Chkalova, 3), the Palace of Culture and Sports of Railway Workers (opened in 1978; Chkalova, 7) [2] and the building airport terminal Minsk-1 (Chkalova, 38).
