Berdyansk district

Berdyansk district is a unit of administrative division of the Yekaterinoslav province of the Ukrainian SSR , which existed from March 1923 to June 1925 . The administrative center is the city of Berdyansk .

It was formed on March 7, 1923 as part of the Yekaterinoslav province. The district included 9 districts: Berestovetsky , Novo-Pavlovsky , Novospassky , Nogaysky , Petropavlovsky , Pologsky , Tsarevodarovsky , Tsarekonstantinovsky and Chernigov [1] .

In 1924, the Bolshe-Tokmak District was transferred from the Melitopol District to Berdyansk. In the same year, the Molochansky district was formed, and the Novo-Pavlovsky district was renamed Andreevsky. Thus, by 1925 the number of districts reached 11.

On June 3, 1925, the Berdyansk district was abolished, and its territory was divided as follows:

  • to the Zaporizhzhya district of the Ekaterinoslav province - Pologsky and part of the Peter and Paul region.
  • to the Mariupol district of Donetsk province - Tsarekonstantinovsky, Berestovetsky, Novospassky (with renaming to Berdyansk) districts, part of the Andreevsky district and the city of Berdyansk.
  • to the Melitopol district of the Yekaterinoslav province - Bolshe-Tokmak, Molochansky, Tsarevodarovsky, Chernihiv, Nogai districts, as well as parts of the Petropavlovsk and Andreevsky districts [2] .
