1919 Banknotes

10 Carbovans of 1919 of the Ukrainian Directory

The matrix for issuing banknotes of 10 carbovanets was prepared under the government of Hetman Skoropadsky , so the letters “UD” ( Ukrainian State ) are placed on the obverse of the bill. The cliche and part of the bills prepared for release were captured on February 5, 1919 by the Soviet troops occupying Kiev . In May 1919, the Soviet Government of Ukraine began issuing banknotes using this cliche.

In August 1919, the issue of the same note was launched by the Ukrainian Directory - the government of the Ukrainian People’s Republic.

Soviet bills differ from the bills of the Directory by paper, paint, watermarks and the location of the series and number [1] [2] .
