Naknek ( Eng. Naknek River ) - a river in the south-west of Alaska , USA . It originates from Lake Naknek and carries its waters in a westerly direction, flowing into Kvichak Bay, which is part of Bristol Bay . The river is 56 km long [1] .

Administratively, it flows through the territory of Borough Bristol Bay . Near the mouth of the river are the settlements of Naknek and South Naknek (on the northern and southern banks, respectively). 25 km upstream from these settlements, on the northern bank of the river, there is a statistically isolated area of King Salmon . The upper reaches of the river are located within the Kathmai National Park [2] .
The waters of the river and the lake of the same name are rich in sockeye salmon and other salmonids [3] .
For the first time the name was mentioned in 1836 by the Russian navigator Litke , printed on the maps in 1852 by Tebenkov [4] .
