The Pikiner Regiment was formed, in 1764, in accordance with the project for the establishment of the Novorossiysk Landmilitia , to form a settled Ulan regiment, armed with sabers and peaks from the personnel of the Novoserb companies - settlements ( shants ) of the Elizavetgradchina . It was deployed in the central part of the modern Kirovograd region and the eastern part of the modern Dnepropetrovsk region . It included 20 mouths - settlements, of which 17 names are known: Murzinka, Bishkov, Ovnyansk, Kulakov, Chervonokamensk, Popelnasta, Orlinskaya, Kutsevolovka, Mishurin Rog, Dereevka, Yellow, Green, Verblyuzhka, Spasovka, Vershinokamensk, New Adzhamka.
The settled regiment was disbanded in 1783, its successor was the Elisavetgrad light-regiment , renamed in 1796 the Elisavetgrad 3rd Hussar Regiment .
