Sulmaz Abbashi Azad ( Pers. سولماز عباسی آزاد , born January 19, 1984 , Tehran , Iran ) is an Iranian rower , a participant in the 2012 Summer Olympics , a bronze medalist of the 2010 Asian Summer Games.

Sports Biography
Initially, Sulmaz Abbasi was engaged in rowing slalom, but in 2009 she switched to rowing [1] .
Abbashi won her first major international award in 2010 at the Asian Summer Games in Guangzhou, China . In the doubles lightweight division competitions, Sulmaz, together with her teammates, was able to win a bronze medal, having passed ahead only athletes from China and Vietnam.
In 2012, Abbashi took part in the London Summer Olympics . Sulmaz took the last place in the preliminary round in the singles competition, but in the additional race the Iranian athlete was able to take second place, which allowed her to break into the quarterfinals. In the next round, Abbashi again took last place and went to the finals D, where she took 6th place with a score of 8: 57.98. Following the results of the competition, Abbashi took the final 24th place.
In 2013, Abbashi won her first Asian rowing championship medal. The Iranian team won a silver medal in the doubles lightweight competition.
