Content
Story
The senior bank teller, Mitrofan Ilich Koretsky, decides not to evacuate the town bordering on Latvia . A young typist Musya Volkova remained with him - she did not have time to transport.
Two fighters brought jewels to the bank building, which were picked up from the post car of the blown-up train. Under the very nose of the German soldiers, the cashier and the typist take out more than 17 kg of jewels from the city. The Nazis learn about valuable cargo and begin to search for fugitives.
On the way, Mitrofan Ilyich dies, and Musya continues on the same path. Meets with local residents, falls into the partisan detachment. They wanted to take the jewelry by plane, but had to carry the gold on foot. She walked six hundred kilometers along enemy lines before meeting with the soldiers of the Red Army .
