Until 2006, Plaksino was part of the Kamensky rural district [4] [5] .

The village is located in the central part of the district, on the banks of the Barkovka river (the left tributary of the Nara ) [6] , about 13 km southeast of Naro-Fominsk , the height of the center above sea level is 179 m [7] . The nearest settlements are Klovo , 1.5 km to the west, Dyatlovo , 2 km to the southeast, and Sobakino , 2.5 km to the east.
