Bataisk Museum of History - a historical museum in the city of Bataisk , Rostov Region . The modern museum building is located in the Park of Culture and Leisure of the city at ul. Kirova, 51a.
History
The first museum in Bataisk was opened in 1966 and was located in a local cinema. Its original name is " Museum of revolutionary, military and labor glory . " It was located in only two rooms, and its fund totaled only about 400 exhibits. The modern museum building was erected in 1979. The opening took place on April 22 of the same year [1] .
The museum has been given its modern name since 1993. At present, its exposition and exhibition area is 430 square meters [2] .
Museum Expositions
The basis of all museum exhibits are exhibits telling about the history of the city, ethnography, archeology. The museum’s funds include about 9 thousand authentic documents on the history of Bataysk [3] .
Three exposition halls [4] :
- Hall of Military Glory - exhibits of the times of the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars , a wall of memory with the names of the dead are presented. The hall occasionally hosts ceremonies, meetings of war veterans and meetings of search groups.

- History of flight schools GVF them. Baranov and VAUL them. Serova. It is noteworthy that such distinguished pilots as Aleksey Maresyev , who became the prototype of the main character of the novel by Boris Polevoy “ The Tale of a Real Man ”, pilot ace Grigory Dolnikov, trained in it.
- Personal belongings of the first cosmonauts Vladimir Komarov , Evgeny Khrunov , Victor Gorbatko .
- Exhibits from the history of the Batay railway junction. The Vladikavkaz railway, built in 1875 by decree of Emperor Alexander II , passed through Bataysk, which became a major railway junction and a “gateway” to the Caucasus .
- Ethnographic exposure. There are exhibits dedicated to the traditions and everyday life of the inhabitants of Bataisk and its environs: antique furniture, peasant tools, church and decorative items.
- Permanent exhibition of the works of the Batai artist N.S. Losevsky [1] .
