Gorelik, Lev Davydovich

Gorelik Lev Davydovich ( February 16, 1929 , Bobruisk - April 11, 1996 , Minsk ) - Soviet violinist , music teacher . Honored Artist of the Belarusian SSR (1963). People's Artist of the Belarusian SSR (1980), Associate Professor of the Department of Stringed Bow Instruments of the Belarusian State Academy of Music.

Biography

Lev Davidovich Gorelik was born on February 16, 1929 in Bobruisk. His father, David Gorelik, was a cabman, and his mother Maryasya (Maria) was a housewife. The family had seven children. Leva studied at the Bobruisk music school, but, noting the successes, the parents showed their son to the head of the violin department of the Moscow Conservatory, Professor A. I. Yampolsky .

Lev Gorelik graduated from the Central Music School in 1945 and, due to his illness, returned to Belarus, where he entered the Belarusian Conservatory and simultaneously worked as an artist of the BSSR State Academic Symphony Orchestra.

In 1952 he graduated from the Belarusian Conservatory (student of A. L. Immortal and A. N. Amiton ).

Since 1956 - accompanist of the orchestra of the State Opera and Ballet Theater of the BSSR .

From 1952 he taught at the Secondary Special Music School at the Conservatory, in 1960-1977 - at the Minsk College of Music, and since 1981 - at the Belarusian Conservatory .

The years of active concert by Lev Gorelik are marked by the real rise of Belarusian violin music. He performed works by Anatoly Bogatyrev , Grigory Puxt , Peter Podkovyrov , Heinrich Wagner , Eddie Tyrmand, Evgeny Glebov , Dmitry Smolsky , Grigory Surus, Kim Tesakov , Andrey Mdivani, Galina Gorelova, Valery Karetnikov, Nina Ustinova and many others. He became the first of the violinists who turned to the works of Mikhail Yelsky .

Lev Gorelik died on April 11, 1996 in Minsk, is buried in the Northern cemetery .
