According to the 2010 All-Russian Census, the resident population is 10 [2] , there are 2 streets in the village [3] . Until 2006, Elagino was part of the Ateptsevsky rural district [4] [5] .

The village is located in the central part of the region, on the right bank of the Nara River [6] , about 3 km south of Naro-Fominsk , the height of the center above sea level is 197 m [7] . The nearest settlements are Ateptsevo to the east, on the opposite bank of the river, Kotovo , 1.7 km to the west and Schekutino , 2 km to the south-west. Near the western outskirts of Elagino, the M3 Ukraine road passes.
