Content
Story
Upon learning that her lover is married, Valeria ( Sophia Loren ) decides to commit suicide. Before taking a sleeping pill, she calls the help desk (“Helping Hand”), where her companion turns out to be a Catholic priest (Don Mario, actor Marcello Mastroianni ), who failed to dissuade Valeria in the decision. When she wakes up in the hospital in the morning, she sees the same priest in front of her bed and falls in love with him. Contrary to this celibacy vow, Mario also falls in love with Valeria. To solve the problem, on reflection, can only the special permission of the Pope, but the title of Monsignor, proposed by Mario Vatican, turns out to be more seductive than love.
