Biography

Born in a merchant family. He graduated from the full course of sciences at Moscow University with a degree of candidate of verbal sciences. On April 1, 1835, he was assigned to serve in the Pavlovsk Cadet Corps as a history teacher. On June 1, 1838, he was assigned to the military march of His Imperial Majesty the Chancellery with resignation. On January 23, 1839, he was assigned to the department of the General Staff, leaving him in the service in the Pavlovsk Cadet Corps. On September 7 of the same year, he was approved as a titular adviser . April 14, 1840 promoted to college assessors .

September 30, appointed Secretary of the Chancellery of the Department of the General Staff. Since December 19, 1842 - Scientific Secretary of the Military Academic Committee for the Department of the General Staff, with resignation. April 4, 1843 transferred to the Ministry of War to occupy the 2nd Division. On October 23 of the same year, he was appointed senior officer of the branch of the military regulations. From June 16 to September 2, he temporarily acted as the head of the branch of the code of military decisions.

October 2, 1851 was appointed a member of the commission to investigate the crime of the provincial secretary Stein. On March 30 of the same year, he temporarily served as chief editor of the code of military decisions, and in the same year he was thanked by the director of the chancellery for the performance of this position.

On April 18 of the same year, he was appointed a member of the commission for the analysis and revision of protocols, acts and brillions submitted by the commission to notify the quantity and quality of land occupied by the Ural Cossack army and the Bukeev horde.

On April 12, 1853, he was appointed producer of the affairs of the general presence of the engineering department, leaving him in the director. On March 16, 1857, he was transferred to the 3rd department of His Imperial Majesty's own Chancellery as a senior official. In 1860 he received the rank of full state councilor .

Since February 9, 1862 - Member of the Council of the Minister of the Interior for Printing. At the same time, on May 31, 1863, he was appointed temporary chairman of the Petersburg Censorship Committee . Since August 30, 1865 he is a member of the Council of the General Directorate of Press. Since February 23, 1868 - Senator [1] .

He died in St. Petersburg; buried in the Isidor Church of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra .
