She urged all UN member states to comply with all obligations under the UN Charter in the Cyprus Question, appealed to the Government of Cyprus to take all the additional measures necessary to end violence and bloodshed, and also called on the communities of Cyprus and their leaders to exercise restraint. The resolution contained recommendations for the establishment of a UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus.
The resolution also recommended the appointment by the UN Secretary-General of a mediator in agreement with the governments of Cyprus , Greece , Turkey and the United Kingdom to resolve problems between communities in Cyprus and the world at large on the island.
The resolution was adopted by 11 votes out of 11.
