The island is located 26.5 km north-west of Small Andaman Island in the southern part of the Andaman island chain, and 59.6 km to the south of the North Sentinel Island . From the limited information available we can say that it is a coral island overgrown with forests. In one of the publications written in the 19th century, Colonel Alcock, who visited him, wrote:
"[The southern island] is raised a few feet above sea level and surrounded by a continuous chain of coral reefs ."
The island is uninhabited, but sometimes used for diving expeditions. With the exception of the autonomous lighthouse [1] there are no buildings on the island.
