Biography
He graduated from elementary school and gymnasium in Bosan Hradishka . In the 1980s, he was a rock critic, was interested in contemporary art [1] .
He studied literature in Banja Luka , then literature and South Slavic languages at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb , which he graduated in 1991, writing a thesis on Milos Crniansky [2] .
Since 1991, he entered as a novice in the monastery of Savina . In 1992 he moved to the Cetinje Monastery , where on the eve of the birth of John the Baptist in 1993 he was tonsured a monk with the name John [2] .
From 1993 to 2003, he lectured in literature, Serbian and Slovenian languages , general history, and was also the secretary of the Theological Seminary of St. Peter Cetinsky in Cetin [2] .
On October 31, 1995, at the Stanevichi Monastery, Metropolitan Amphilochius of Montenegro-Primorsky (Radovich) was ordained to the rank of hierodeacon , and June 16, 1997 - to the rank of hieromonk [2] .
In 1997, he was appointed rector in the monastery of Morachnik . He worked on the repair and beautification of churches and monasteries on Skadar Lake , known as the Zeta Holy Mountain [2] .
In 1998, he participated in the creation of the metropolitan radio “Svetigora”, the first radio channel of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and since then has remained its employee [2] .
Since June 1999 he was in the monastery of the Pech Patriarchate in Kosovo. Managed relations with KFOR and UNMIK . Worked for the salvation of shrines and people; refugee protection; calculus and definitions of killed, wounded, lost, expelled and fled; documentation of the suffering and return of the Serbs [2] .
As a member of the state delegation of Yugoslavia in January 2001, he visited Israel and testified about the Kosovo issue [2] .
In the same year of this connection, he went to Italy to build cooperation with Italian institutions for the protection of the heritage of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija . In 2002, he was in Italy as a guest of the Folgore parachute brigade, with whom, thanks to him, the Serbian Church established good relations [2] .
In October 2002, he was introduced into the reserve staff of the 63rd Airborne Brigade, where he received military training and a non-commissioned officer rank [2] .
In 2002, participated in the 3rd international conference on Jasenovac in Jerusalem [2] .
Since 2003 he moved to Israel to study and entered the temporary jurisdiction of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church .
He entered a magistracy to study Jewish culture at the Yad Vashem memorial and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem . He defended his master's thesis under the supervision of David Bankir , head of the International Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Yad Vashem [2] .
He led Serbian delegations at international conferences on the Holocaust in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010. Sent Serbian students to the Jerusalem memorial Yad Vashem [2] .
In 2005, he served in the Khuziv Monastery, and then in a number of other churches and monasteries of the Holy Land , including the Sarandar Monastery on the Forty-Day Mountain [2] .
In 2006, in Israel, he gave lectures on the collapse of Yugoslavia and interethnic relations at the Vidal Sasun Center in Jerusalem [2] .
March 14-15, 2007, as a representative of the Serbian Orthodox Church, participated in the 6th academic meeting between Orthodoxy and Judaism at the Jerusalem Van Lear Institute [3] .
July 12, 2007 in Cetinje was elevated to protosingel .
Widely developing the work of the Yasenovatsk Commission of the Serbian Church to promote worldwide awareness of the Yasenovatsk tragedy. He participated in numerous conferences on Jasenovac around the world.
In 2009, he gave two lectures on Jewish history and culture at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade.
On May 26, 2011, by decision of the Holy Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, he was elected Vicar of the Patriarch of Serbia with the title Lipliansky.
On September 3 of the same year, he was named bishop at the monastery of the Pech Patriarchate [4] .
On September 4, 2011, he was consecrated bishop of Lipliansky, vicar of the Patriarch of Serbia . The consecration was performed by the Patriarch of Serbia, Irenaeus , accompanied by the Archbishop of Tsetinsky and Metropolitan of Montenegro-Primorsky Amphilochius (Radovic) and Bishops Athanasius (Yevtich) , Bachsky Irenaeus (Bulovich) , Budimlyansko- Niksich Ioannavich (Sonicovich) , Ionicovic (Sonic ) , Nishsky John ( Purich) , Zakhumsk -Herzegovach Grigory (Durich) , Vransky Pachomius (Gachich) , Rashko-Prizrensky Theodosius (Shibalich) , Stobi David (Ninov) , Krushevachky David (Perovich) [5] [6] . The location of Bishop John was determined Pechersk Patriarchate. The ordination of Bishop John on behalf of the state authorities was attended by the ministers for Kosovo and Metohija and the Interior Goran Bogdanovich and Ivica Dacic, as well as the Advisor to the President of Serbia Mladjan Djordjevic [7] .
By the decision of the Holy Bishops' Council, which was held on May 14-24, 2014, he was appointed Bishop of Slavon [8] .
On September 13 of the same year, intronization took place in the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church in Pakrac [9] .
