Biography
Graduated from Zhezhmariai secondary school in 1981. She received higher education at the Faculty of Economics of the Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture in Kaunas (currently - Alexander Stulginskis University) , which she graduated in 1992.
She began her career as an accountant in the management of peat development, the Zhiburis collective farm (flame (lit.) ), And in the technical agricultural association of the city of Ukmerge . From 1986 to 1992, she worked as an economist at the Ukmerge public services plant. During this time she graduated from the Lithuanian Institute of Accounting and Auditing, having received the specialty of auditor (1997). From 1992 to 1994 she worked in the agricultural company Pamuschis and CJSC Musha as chief accountant. She worked as a teacher at the Higher School of Agriculture (currently the Ukmerg Higher School of Technology and Business) from 1994 to 2004.
At the same time as a teacher, she took up private business, setting up her own individual company that provided accounting services: accounting, business analysis, tax advice, etc. Since 1998, has been licensed by the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania, which gives the right to work as an auditor.
He speaks Russian , Lithuanian and German .
Political career
Since 2004, she has been engaged in political activities. Member of the Seimas of Lithuania 2004-2008, 2008-2012 and 2012-2016. Member of the Labor Party of Lithuania . During this time, she held the position of chairman of the Seimas faction, and positions in the party’s leadership.
In 2009, she participated in the election of the President of the Republic of Lithuania [2] .
At the congress of the labor party held on October 26, 2013, Loreta Grauginene was elected its chairman [3] . She left this post on March 17, 2015 [4] due to low party performance in municipal elections.
From October 3, 2013 to November 14, 2016 she was the Chairman of the Seimas of Lithuania [5] .
