Biography
Sports career
Davit began practicing ashihara karate at the age of nine. Several times became the champion of Georgia. He later moved to the Netherlands . After winning the European Karate Championship, Kiria went on to kickboxing and began training in the Golden Glory Hall, founded by Kor Hammers , under the direction of Dave Enkers. The Dutch specialist, along with Sammy Schilt, invited Kyria to fight in 2007, specially organized for him in Amsterdam , and after him he stayed there. Despite his performance in professional kickboxing, he continues to practice kekushinkai in the classic karateka dogs twice a week.
Kiria's debut in the professional ring took place on July 6, 2008 against Faldir Chahbari at the Ultimate Glory 8 tournament in the Netherlands, in which the Georgian fighter lost after a stoppage of the fight as a judge [3] . In the first five fights, he suffered four defeats. During his sports career, Kiria met with such athletes as: Nicki Holtsken , Robin van Rusmalen , Murtel Groenhart , Gevorg Petrosyan , Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong . He considers his fight with Andy Risti for the GLORY title [4] [5] to be his best and most important fight. At the fourteenth tournament of promotion in Zagreb, Kiria knocked out an opponent in the fifth round [1] .
After ending his career in this promotion on November 24, 2017, Kiria became the world champion in savat , defeating Louis Nasibo in the final of the KFWC savate pro 2017 tournament. Then he continued his performance in Kulun Fight 80, where he also won the champion belt on February 24, 2019, having won by unanimous decision (5 rounds) over Feng Xingli [6] .
Personal life
Kiria is a religious person. He is an Orthodox Christian. Every Saturday and Sunday he attends church. Crushes married since 2013. Spouse - citizen of the Netherlands Merisa Van Dam.
