“Paris for Three Hours” is a historical novel by the Soviet writer Valentin Pikul , written in 1960-1962, 1984-1985. The action of the novel takes place in Paris, in 1812. While Napoleon and the remnants of his “Great Army”, having left Moscow, are slowly retreating back to the west, to the borders of Russia, an incredible event is taking place in Paris. General Claude Francois Male with the support of officers adherents of the French Republic, declares the emperor dead and takes power for three hours in the capital of the Empire .
