Daina Viktorovna Schweitz ( Daina Šveica , July 28, 1939 , Riga , Latvian SSR , USSR ) - Soviet rower , four-time European champion in doubles (1963, 1964, 1965, 1967). Three-time champion of the USSR (1963, 1964, 1967). Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1965).

Biography

In 1965 she graduated from Riga Technical University .
In 1970 she was elected a member of the women's committee of the International Rowing Federation .
From 1970 to 1990 she worked as a researcher at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Latvian SSR. PhD in Chemistry .
From 1988 to 1992, she was vice president of the Latvian Olympic Committee .
In 1992-1996, she served as chairman of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Latvia.
From 1993 to 2005, she headed the international department of the Latvian Academy of Sciences .
