Squiggle squat

Squamose squamous , or Scutellaria acutifolia , or Adiposum adjoining [2] ( lat. Scutellária supína ) - perennial herb ; species of the genus Shlemnik ( Scutellaria ) of the family Lamiaceae .

Botanical Description

A shrub with a ligneous, curved root, 20-50 cm high.

The stems are numerous, rising, lignified in the lower part, with elongated winding branches of purple color; covered with small white hairs.

The leaves are ovate, 2-3.5 cm long and up to 2 cm wide, truncated or heart-shaped at the base, jagged at the edges, almost bare from above, dotted-glandular on the lower side, acute upper, with a pointed tip.

The inflorescence is a tetrahedral apical brush with loose false whorls of flowers, sharply isolated from the rest of the shoot . Bracts are broadly ovoid, pale green or slightly purple. Calyx during flowering about 3 mm long, densely hairy and glandular. Corolla sulfur-yellow, with a purple upper lip and lateral lobes, large, 22–35 mm long.

The fruit is dry, fractional, breaks up into four nut-shaped parts [3] [4] .

Distribution and habitat

East European-Asian species. The area is the south of the European part of Russia and Ukraine , Western and Eastern Siberia , Central Asia , Dzhungaro - Kashgar district, Mongolia .

Limiting factors are limestone mining, overgrazing, regular spring burning of grass, as well as overgrowing of slopes with dense grassy vegetation and shrubs .

Guard Status

In Russia

In Russia, the species is included in the Red Books of Belgorod, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Sverdlovsk and Tula regions, as well as the Republic of Mordovia. It grows on the territory of several specially protected natural territories of Russia [6] .

In Ukraine

Included in the Red Book of Ukraine and the Red Book of Lugansk Region, is protected in the "Cretaceous Flora" department of the Ukrainian NPP "Holy Mountains" . It is grown in the Donetsk Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine , Botanical Garden named after A. V. Fomin KNU named after T. Shevchenko [7] .
