Altia is Finland ’s state-owned monopoly company for the production, import and marketing of alcoholic beverages [2] with a turnover of € 525 million (2011). It operates in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia and Latvia.

The company has its own production facilities in Finland (Kosenkenva and Rajamäki ), Estonia ( Tabasalu ) and Denmark ( Svendborg ).
In May 2014, Finland announced its readiness to sell the company, as it lost its strategic importance [3] [4] .
