Ludovik of Savoy ( Louis , English Louis of Savoy , Italian. Ludovico ; June 5, 1436 or April 1, 1437 - August 1482 ) - Count of Geneva , king of Cyprus , ruled with his wife, Queen Charlotte of Cyprus [2] . Louis was the second son and namesake of the Duke of Louis of Savoy and his wife Anna de Lusignan , daughter of King Janus of Cyprus .

Biography
Born in Geneva . On December 14, 1447, the young Louis was married at Stirling Castle to the 14-year-old Princess , daughter of James I of Scotland. Young spouses almost did not communicate, they had no children, and the marriage was annulled in 1458 .
On October 4, 1459, Louis married his cousin, the 15-year-old Queen Charlotte of Cyprus, and became King of Cyprus , and also acquired the formal titles of King of Jerusalem and Cilician Armenia . This wedding was initiated by the Genoese, who promised Charlotte their support in the fight for the crown with her half-brother Jacques (Jacob) .
In 1460, Jacques captured Famagusta and Nicosia and blocked Charlotte and Louis in the castle of Kyrenia for three years. In 1463, the couple fled to Rome and settled in the Palazzo dei Convertendi in Trastevere under the auspices of Pope Pius II . Jacques was crowned as King Jacques (Jacob) II .
Death
Louis of Savoy died in Ripailles Castle - the residence of the Dukes of Savoy on the shores of Lake Geneva - in 1482 .
Children
From a marriage with Charlotte of Cyprus , a son was born to Louis of Savoy in July 1464 , but he died a month after birth.
