Biographies
By nationality, Lithuanian. Catholic by religion. From the peasants of Mariampol district of Suvalka province. Education is an elementary school. He was engaged in self-education a lot [2] . The main occupation is agriculture. Member of the Lithuanian Democratic Party (or National Democratic Party [3] ). He was imprisoned for 3 and a half months in Calvary prison on charges of propaganda and agitation among peasants.
On April 20, 1906, he was elected to the State Duma of the 1st convocation from the general electors of the Suvalki provincial electoral assembly. Member of the autonomist faction, sympathized with the Constitutional Democrats. Some sources report that Girnius was a member of the Polish Colo [1] , however, the Trudoviks in their publication βWorks of the First State Dumaβ do not confirm this and attribute it to non-partisan members of the Lithuanian autonomist group [4] . He did not take part in the work of the Duma commissions. His speech in the Duma on the agrarian question is known.
The fate and date of death is unknown.
