The village is located in the western part of the district, on the left bank of the Protva River , 2.2 km north-west of the town of Vereya [4] , the height of the center above sea level is 206 m [5] . The nearest settlements in 1,5 km - Rozhdestveno to the south-east, Mityaevo to the south and Zolot'kovo to the north-west.
History : the first mention in 1766 - "Merchalovo - the village of the City camp, possession of captain Vasily Andreev son Vyrodov, hedged 1766. Rudomets. Only 15 houses, 77 souls" - description of villages and villages of the Moscow province, Verey district.
