Plants have a pineal, tuberous root and pinnately dissected leaves with narrow linear or filamentous lobes. Calyx has no teeth; painted in yellow. The fruits have a characteristic cylindrical shape with filiform ribs [2] .
Previously, the genus united 8 species common in Southeastern Europe and Western Asia (including 5 species in the territory of the former USSR , 4 of them in the Central Asian republics) [2] . Now many species previously included in this genus are reclassified.
