In 1924, he began working for the “ Russian Seasons ” by Sergey Diaghilev and, under the influence of the atmosphere of the troupe, where prominent composers, artists and choreographers collaborated, became interested in theater design. His first work was Strindberg ’s play “The Ghost Sonata”. In 1939 he designed his first opera - Parma Monastery by Henri Soge . As a production designer, he collaborated with theaters such as the Paris Opera , Opera Comic , the Marseille Opera, the Metropolitan Opera , the New York City Ballet , and the Royal Ballet of Great Britain .
