Angelarius (in the world Tsvetko Krastsky , Macedonian. Tsvetko Krsteski , Bulgarian. Tsvetko Krastev ; March 25, 1911 , Dolneni - June 15, 1986 , Drenovskoe Gorge , Socialist Republic of Macedonia ) - the second primate of the non-canonical Macedonian Orthodox Church with the title “Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedon.

Biography

Born in 1911 in the family of a priest Kostadin of Krstsky.

During the Second World War he participated in the national liberation struggle in Macedonia.

In 1945, he was a member of the Advisory Council on the Organization of the Orthodox Church in Macedonia and a member of the Association of Orthodox Clergy of the People's Republic of Macedonia .

He took part in the First Church of the People’s Cathedral in Skopje in 1945 and the priestly conference in 1946.

He was awarded a red belt, in 1959 he was awarded a cross and then becomes a stavorian archpriest.

From 1961 to 1964 he was in Melbourne , where he fed the Australian Macedonians. He founded the first Macedonian Orthodox Church in the Macedonian diaspora in Melbourne.

After returning from Melbourne in 1964, he served in the Church of the Annunciation in Prilep .

In 1967, together with the Macedonian episcopate and clergy, he declined to split.

Widowed. In 1972 he was tonsured a monk. In 1975, he was elected and appointed to the bishop of Pelagon.

Since July 5, 1977 - Metropolitan of Debarsko-Kichevsky.

On August 19, 1981 he became Primate of the non-canonical Macedonian Orthodox Church with the title "Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia and Metropolitan of Skopsky."

Shortly after the election, he turned to the bishops abroad for support. The Greek Archbishop of North and South America, Jacob (Kukuzis) , wrote in his reply to Angelarius that the Macedonians' demand for autocephaly is unacceptable for the Orthodox Church, since it proceeds from national rather than church needs: “In the aspect of canonical and positive law, you should never have been putschistically declare your Church autocephalous. This returns the Orthodox Church to the heresy of ethnophyletism , modeled on the Bulgarian exarchate . ” Archbishop Jacob emphasized that neither clergy-lay assembly nor political power can provide autocephaly [1] .

On June 15, 1986, he died in a car accident in the Drenovskoye Gorge , on the way from Prilep to Skopje, colliding with the Ikarus regular bus. Buried in the church of St. Demetrius in Skopje [2] [3] .
