Turgunbai Sadykovich Sadykov (born November 4, 1935 , the village of Govsuvar, Batken district , Osh region , Kyrgyz SSR ) is a Soviet and Kyrgyz sculptor - monumentalist , teacher, professor. Rector of the National Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic (since October 4, 2010 ).

Biography
Turgunbai Sadykovich Sadykov was born on November 4, 1935 in the village of Govsuvar in Kyrgyzstan. From 1955 to 1956 he studied in the workshop of V. A. Puzirevsky in the city of Frunze (Bishkek). From 1961 to 1966, he studied at the Moscow Artistic Pedagogical University under V.I. Derunov , E.F. Belashova and R.R. In 1967, he won the Lenin Komsomol Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR . From 1968 to 1987 - Chairman of the Board of Artists of the Kyrgyz SSR. In 1973 he joined the Communist Party . In 1985 he became the head of the creative workshop of sculpture of the Academy of Arts of the USSR in Frunze. Since 1987 - Chairman of the Kyrgyz branch of the Soviet Cultural Foundation. In 1980 he became a laureate of the Lenin Prize . Since 1982 - laureate of the State Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR named after Toktogul . Since 1986 - People's Artist of the USSR . Since 1988 - a member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR . Since 1996 - President of the Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic. Since 1998 - Director of the Art College in Bishkek [2] . Since 2010 - Rector of the National Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic. He lives in Bishkek.
