Manor History
The mansion was built by the landowner Konstantin Yuzbashi , who transferred it and the land in the area of the village of Vesyolaya Gora to the inheritance of his son Alexander. This happened between 1783-1802 years [1] . Fragments of the description of the Ekaterinoslav province , in particular about Sloboda Alexandrova, indicate:
In 1783, at the earnest request of the inhabitants of the settlement of Aleksandrovka, Yuzbashevka, too, and of their own free will, the brigadier Konstantin Nikolaevich Yuzbash began to work on building a church in the settlement of Aleksandrovka in the name of the Ascension of the Lord
- [2]
The mansion was sold to the landowner Somov in 1806. Since 1861, the landowner Rubenstein became the owner of the estate, who subsequently sold the estate to the landowner Ilovaisky. In 1883, the estate was bought by businessman V.F. Golubev , and his eldest son Lev became the last owner of the estate. A short article about Aleksandrovka was placed in the journal Capital and Manor (1914, No. 4). In April 1918, Alexandrovsk was occupied by parts of Kaiser Germany and the Germans removed all the property from the landlord's house. At the end of the civil war, the district council was located in the house, since Aleksandrovsk at that time was a district center. After World War II, the building was given over to the regional TB dispensary, which lasted until 2006 [3] .
The free building was transferred to the balance of the Alexander City Council, which had no funds for the restoration of the former estate and leased the property to a private enterprise, which began reconstruction work [3] . In 2011, plans to reduce the territory of the estate (deforestation of the garden of the estate for the construction of the stadium) became a subject of controversy and as a result was postponed [4] .
Property Description
The Yuzbash manor, fenced with a brick fence, consists of a house with buildings, a manager’s house, a garden along the Lugan River and the Holy Ascension Church.
The manor house was built in strict accordance with the canons of early Russian classicism . This is a two-story building with porticoes on both facades: the north is decorated with columns of the ionic order , the south - with Corinthian [2] .
The main (northern) facade is the most surviving part of the mansion (possibly because during the time of the tuberculosis dispensary's stay here, it was the back side and it was not used much). At the top there is a date - 1772, which until that time has not been determined, according to various versions, this is the year of construction of the mansion itself, the year of the creation of the estate on this site, the date of the mass settlement of the village by visiting peasants and craftsmen. The colonnade that leads to the house was built in the Dorian style and served as a transition from the servant’s house to the estate [3] . Thus, all three varieties of the decor of antiquity are presented in the construction [2] .
According to sources, the mansion was connected by colonnades with two wings. But another colonnade has not survived. Proof of its existence are the remains of holes from the fixtures above the western doors, which are similar to those that survived over the eastern ones, to which the first colonnade leads. The reasons for the disappearance of the second colonnade are unknown.
According to legend, the estate had underground passages. It is also known that on the territory of the lord's yard there are wine cellars [2] .
