Biography
Born in 1873 [2] in the village of Kakhab-Roso, Untsukulsky District of the Republic of Dagestan . His father Magoma Tayhibil made a living selling coal. Ashura's mother was from Betley .
Mahmud studied from 1880 to 1899 in madrasah schools at mosques at various famous Alim, such as the cadiy of Dagestan Kurbanali from Ashilt , Muhammad from Gotsob , Tajutdin (Chanka) and others, passed the imtihan exam (امتحان) for a spiritual teacher and an imam in Temir-Khan-Shure (now the city of Buinaksk ), worked as an imam in the native village of Kahabroso, in the village. Betle, in a. Tsatanikh , in with. Batlache, in with. Argvani and in Almak . He served as a cadmium of the 2nd Dagestan Regiment from 1914 to 1918, was wounded at the beginning of the war and was awarded the George Cross (for Mohammedans) for courage.
In his youth, the poet fell in love with the girl Mui (Muminat), from the neighboring village of Betley , the daughter of Muhamadali son Suleiman, but she was married off as a friend of the poet, the son of the royal officer Kebdmuhamad, who died in 1908 in the area of Geryavlak, leaving the two sons of Hasan and Muhamadali . Mahmoud taught the children of the widow of Mui Islamic studies and decided to marry her. In 1914, Mahmoud decided to send matchmakers to the parents of Mui, who had been a widow for six years. He substantially corrected his financial situation, was not the poor man for whom he did not want to marry his daughter. The event was in vain, Mui's parents categorically refused the matchmakers. Then they decided to run away to the neighboring village of Ashilt and ask them to marry them, but Mui's relatives scared her and, frightened that they would kill Mahmud and deprive her of her children, she refused to marry. Then Mahmoud uttered the famous words about treason:
Mesedil leimal kiergi tӏad gabun,
Pahyul bukun bugo bitsarab ragi.
Ghartsul khal tӏad zhemun, zhanib tӏuhyi lun
Yijun yikgun yigo rakӏalul gyudul.

Lead was the love of my heart.
The poet set forth his bitter disappointment and resentment in the poem “Rekel gavayalul gundul rikhanni” - “Palaces of heart passion collapsed”, in which Mahmud narrates in detail, with pain in his soul, about his relationship with his beloved, and there are not enough pencils in Russian to describe them land, their content may surprise not only people, but even genies. His beloved, who was the most precious thing in the world that he idolized, was loaded with such a heavy burden that death was preferable to life. For him, life has lost its meaning and significance, the last hope has fallen. After the betrayal of his beloved, after her refusal to swear an oath promise to unite her fate with him, Mahmud hated all women, because he considered Mui to be the best and most perfect of them. Even if the gurus of paradise descend from heaven and offer him their services, and to them he will remain cold, indifferent. He devoted most of his poems to his beloved [3] .
In the above poem, the poet wrote that a break with his beloved will bring him peace, peace of mind and peace. The palaces of love, built with such diligence and patience, collapsed. Distraught with love, he remained at her ruins, lonely, unrecognized, restless. But is life really lived in vain, love burned out, vanished, there is no beloved, dreams have not come true?
No, the poet has and has remained values that bring him satisfaction and fill the void that has formed in his life. This is his poetry in which he sang his indestructible love:
Rokyutsa gӏortsӏichӏel gӏolohababy
Hemeral Gododila deer Ragabazukh.
Gedal rokyi kkaral golil yasalgi
Gӏodulel ӏelaro deer khabar lani.
Dungo hwananigi hakalda lalel
Kasidatal tana tamanal nahye.
Rakyul vukanigi, kanik urkharab
Kyo gӏemer bachina gӏischku kkarade.

Young men not fed up with love
Many tears shed according to my words.
Girls in love with their time
They will not stop crying when they hear stories about me.
Although I will die, but I will leave many songs
Known to all the people.
Though they bury me in the grave
My tombstone will attract lovers.
The lyrics of Mahmud will become a guiding light, a guide, edification for all, a balm for the soul of those who in life experience this indomitable feeling of love. Mahmoud had a great gift of foresight, he perfectly understood the price of a word, thanks to which a person knows and recognizes himself.
In 1919, Mahmud was killed by a shot in the back of the head in the village of Igali . Buried in Cahabroso.
