Gennady Petrovich Kalashnikov ( January 8, 1937 , Blagoveshchensk, RSFSR, USSR) - Honored Metallurgist of Ukraine [1] , winner of the USSR Council of Ministers Prize. He made an important contribution to the development and widespread introduction of electron beam welding technology in the production of gas turbine engines [2] .

Biography
Gennady Petrovich was born on January 8, 1937 in the city of Blagoveshchensk, Amur Region .
In 1959 he graduated with honors from the Blagoveshchensk Agricultural Institute with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1967, he graduated with honors from the Tomsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Kirov Polytechnic Institute , specializing in Equipment and Technologies for Welding Production.
From 1967 to 2005 (38 years) he worked at the Zaporizhzhya Engineering Design Bureau "Progress" named after Academician A. G. Ivchenko (today - SE "Ivchenko-Progress").
- 1968 - 1970 - Head of the Welding Bureau ZMKB "Progress".
- 1970 - 1982 - Head of the Technological Bureau of Welding and Soldering ZMKB "Progress".
- 1982 - 1994 - Deputy Chief Metallurgist ZMKB "Progress".
- 1994 - 1998 - The main metallurgist ZMKB "Progress".
- 1998 - 2005 - Deputy Chief Metallurgist ZMKB "Progress".
Rewards and Merit
- Laureate of the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 08858 of June 18, 1991 . For the development and widespread introduction in the production of gas turbine engines of electron beam welding technology. [3] .
- Honored Metallurgist of Ukraine ( 1996 ). An honorary title was awarded for his special contribution to the national development, manufacture and launch of the D-336-2 motor for a gas pumping unit in mass production.
