The French national football team under 20 years old is the national team for which players aged 20 years and younger have the right to play. It is controlled by the Football Federation of France . Due to the lack of a UEFA tournament for teams up to 20 years old, the team competes in the World Cup among youth teams . The U-20 team competes in the Toulon Tournament , usually replacing the French youth soccer team . The team also plays in football tournaments of the Mediterranean and Francophone Games .

The national team is the current world champion after winning the 2013 World Cup among youth teams . The team first reached the semi-finals of the tournament in 2011 , as well as twice the quarter-finals: in 1997 and 2001 . The coach is Louis Batelli .
