Stanisław Rospond ( Polish: Stanisław Rospond , September 30, 1877 , Lishki , Lesser Poland Voivodeship , Poland - February 4, 1958 , Krakow , Poland) - Catholic prelate , rector of the Krakow Higher Theological Seminary from 1920 to 1927, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Krakow with March 25, 1927 to February 4, 1958, the uncle of the Polish linguist Stanislav Rospond .

Biography

In 1897, Stanislav Rospond joined the Krakow seminary . He also studied at the Jagiellonian University . Since 1898 he studied in Innsbruck , where in 1904 he received the degree of Doctor of Theology. On August 10, 1901 he was ordained a priest . From 1904 to 1905 he served as vicar in the cathedral in Wadowice. From 1905 to 1920 he worked at the St. Anna Grammar School in Krakow. Since 1909, he was rector of the Cracow Primary Seminary. In 1930 he was appointed rector of the Cracow Higher Theological Seminary.

On March 25, 1927, Pope Pius XI appointed Stanislav Rospond the titular bishop of Dardanus and the auxiliary bishop of the Cracow archdiocese. On June 12, 1927, Stanislav Rospond was ordained bishop, performed by the Cracow Archbishop Adam Stefan Sapega , accompanied by Bishop Tarnuva Leon Walenga and titular Bishop of Agbia and auxiliary Bishop of Lutsk, Zhytomyr and Kamenetz-Podolsky, Michal Godlodsk.

In 1953 he was arrested by the communist authorities and kept under house arrest in Czestochowa .

He died on February 4, 1958 and was buried in a parish cemetery in the native village of Lishki.
